Iowa Heart Foundation’s annual Cardiovascular Today Conference increases knowledge of diagnosing, treating and preventing cardiovascular disease. The conference included a variety of lectures, panel discussions, small group discussions and exhibits aimed at physicians, physician’s assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, radiology technologists, coders, medical assistants, EMS providers and sonographers. The Iowa Heart Center Research department was represented by Cecily Decklever, RN and Donna Prouty, RN (left to right).
The 2017 conference was held on February 4, 2017 at the Ron Pearson Center in West Des Moines.
Featured guest speakers included Tim Harlan, MD (a.k.a. Dr. Gourmet) and Chef Leah Sarris of Tulane University's Goldring Culinary Medicine program. Dr. Iraklis Pipinos, Vascular Surgeon/professor at Univeristy of Nebraska presented "Peripheral Vascular Disease....".
There were 435 registered for this year's conference with 33 vendor exhibits and many opportunities for attendees to network with other healthcare professionals as well as the featured speakers. Select power point presentations from the conference are posted on this website under the Education tab.
