2014 Nursing Scholarships Announced

The Iowa Heart Foundation provides nursing tuition scholarships annually. Recipients of the 2014 scholarships include the following nursing students: Anita Leveke, Kevin Rixmann, Krista Hageman, and Laura Stensland (all attend Mercy College of Health Sciences in Des Moines); Tyler Stover (Grand View University) and Danielle Bohnert (DMACC-Ankeny).

AED Placement

The Iowa Heart Foundation donated an automatic external defibrillator (AED) to the Decatur County Public Health and Home Care on Monday, May 12. Dr. Joel From, Iowa heart Center cardiologist and member of the Iowa Heart Foundation presented the AED to Shelly Bickel, Administrator and her staff. 7th Annual "Run For Your Life" run/walk event

Save the Date for the 7th Annual "Run For Your Life" run/walk event scheduled for Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Des Moines Water Works Park. A new feature this year is the participation of the Carlisle High School Cheer Squad to encourage all event participants! Further details may be found under "Upcoming Events" including the brochure and information about on-line registration. On-line registration closes at 12:00 noon Friday, August 22. Registration will continue at packet pickup and on race-day.
