Our aim is to promote cardiovascular health in Iowa communities and organizations. To accomplish this we commit to:

  • Community Service - Increasing awareness on cardiac health and related services
  • Professional Education - providing access to emerging information on cardiac health
  • Charitable Services - assisting those with a determined financial need to obtain cardiac healthcare services

One Dime at a Time

The Iowa Heart Foundation has been designated the One Dime at a Time recipient for January, February, and March at Whole Foods Market(WFM) in West Des Moines. WFM customers receive a 10 cent credit for bringing in their own bag and can decide to donate it to the specified non-profit organization. Together we are making a positive impact on the local community and environment one dime at a time!

AED Placement

The Iowa Heart Foundation donated an automatic external defibrillator (AED) to the Decatur County Mass Casualty Response Trailer in Leon on December 30. Cindy Conroy, Iowa Heart Foundation Program Coordinator presented the AED to Troy Armstrong, Decatur County Hospital Safety Officer. 24th Annual Cardiovascular Today Conference

The 24th Annual Cardiovascular Today Conference was held on Saturday, February 7, 2015. The conference provided continuing education credits in cardiovascular care for more than 400 attendees. SAVE THE DATE--the 25th Annual Cardiovascular Today Conference will be held on February 6, 2016.

AED Placements

An AED (automatic external defibrillator) was donated to the American Legion Post #403 /Iowa Veterans' Reception Center in Van Meter on January 13. The AEDs are funded by proceeds from the annual "Run For Your Life' event in August.

Run For Your Life run/walk

Save the Date! The 8th Annual Run For Your Life run/walk event will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Des Moines Water Works Park. Brochures will be available in early June.
